COLOUR WITCH'S ADVENT ~ RED ~ 6th December

Roots. Safety. The Things That Hold You.

Red is often described as the colour of passion, fire, danger; it’s all of that. But it is also the colour that says: you are safe here. You are held. You belong.

Red is your roots going down into the earth, your foundations. It's the people who've got your back. The places that feel like home. The possessions that aren't just things - they're memories, proof that you've lived and loved and built something solid.

At this time of year, when everything pulls us into commercialism, chaos, and other people's expectations - red reminds us to think about what actually keeps us steady.

The 3 Ps

  • Who are your people? Not just family, the ones you're supposed to care about, but those who make you feel safe and secure.

This is my altar:

People; a photo of me and my hubby, my safe person. A card from my trader family at The Gothic Gathering and a red fascinator made especially for this post at a networking group yesterday - a place I feel people really get me.

Place; Whitby - my spiritual home.

Possessions; my cauldron which has my mums favourite candle as a wax melt, a coin for abundance, a red jasper crystal, my red sage stick and a key I have buried in soil, so I always have a place of safety. A cinnamon stick for protection and bay leaf for manifestation plus my wish/affirmation for The Red House - that I keep in a jar with the key.

COLOUR WITCH'S ADVENT ~ CORAL ~ 4th December

The Cold Moon. The Last Supermoon. The Awakening.

Tonight's full moon is the final supermoon of 2025, rising higher in the sky than any other moon this year - and the highest we'll see until 2042. She's called the Cold Moon, and she's in Gemini, the sign of stories, communication, and clarity.

This moon isn't asking us to do more. She's asking us to see more.

Coral is the colour of awakening - not the loud, frantic alarm-clock kind, but the quiet one that creeps in when you're finally ready to take notice. It's the colour of consciousness rising, of purpose clicking into place. Realising you've perhaps been telling yourself a story that no longer quite fits. Question it!

This moon, with all her brightness and height, is fully lighting up what's been half-hidden. What we've been almost seeing but not quite giving a name to. She's finishing something off -…

COLOUR WITCH’S ADVENT ~ BLACK ~ 2nd December

The Descent. Surrender. Deep Rest.

Black is the beginning of everything. The pause in the chaos. The colour of overwhelm, yes - but also the colour that says: “Put it down, Witch. You don’t have to hold on to all of this.”

We all know that his time of year is a lot. Everyone’s tired. Everyone’s pulled in so many different directions. And most of us pretend we’re fine until we crash in a heap on the sofa with a cuppa that’s gone cold and another list of things we still haven’t done.

Black doesn’t expect us to power through.

Black encourages us to stop fighting the tide.

This is the part we tend to skip because it feels unproductive.

Colour Witch Advent Begins

Today is the first day of Colour Witch Advent. I wanted to do something gentle and meaningful for December, without piling pressure onto anyone (including me), so here’s what we’re doing:

Using my twelve-step Colour Journey - every even-numbered day this month, I’ll share a small moment of colour energy for you to sit with. Nothing complicated. No big tasks. Just simple check-ins and colour prompts that help you stay present, grounded, and connected through the chaos of December.

Think of it as a slow advent. A breath. A ritual that meets you where you are.

This isn’t about keeping up or getting it perfect.

It’s about noticing what shifts in you when you pause for a moment of colour.

More tomorrow, witches.

The Power of Connection

Yesterday at White Light Events' Mind, Body and Spirit Events at Magna turned out to be a lot more meaningful than I expected.

I went in thinking it would be a steady day, maybe a few sales and some nice chats, but the Colour Journey completely shifted the energy for me.

There were around thirty-five people in the room, which I didn’t realise until I stood up to start. The session affected me in a way I wasn’t prepared for. I could feel the whole room soften. Shoulders dropped, eyes glistened, and people actually let themselves breathe for the first time in who knows how long.

Afterwards, the conversations were real. Proper real.

People shared what they’re going through and what the colours brought up for them, and it reminded me that these events aren’t “markets” for me anymore. They’re moments of connection.

Spaces to let my work do what…
