Moons and Sabbats for 2026

A little something for you…

I’ve had a few people ask for something simple to follow the moons, so I’ve put together a printable Moon & Sabbat diary for 2026.

It’s based on The Colour Witch's Colour Wheel of the Year, so it’s not just dates…it gives you a feel for the colour energy of each part of the year too.

It includes

  • New Moons - this is your fresh start each month

The Liminal Space before Spring...

Hi Coverners

It’s been a bit quiet from me in here. I’ve not disappeared, just… been super busy.

We’ve just had the New Moon (Tuesday), and tomorrow we’re moving into Ostara. That point in the year where day and night are equal, so it sits right in the balance between winter and spring, the liminal space between darkness and light, where things begin to blossom. Not overnight and not in full bloom, just a bit lighter and brighter (and a tad warmer) than it has been.

That in-between bit.

It always makes me think of the Greek Myth of Demeter and Persephone. The story goes that Persephone spends part of the year in the underworld, and her mother, Demeter, goddess of the harvest, grieves her absence. The land goes barren in the Autumn. Nothing grows in Winter.

Then, as Persephone is due to return, so does everything else. The ground…

Moon circles, hearth nights and what’s next

The Full Moon Gathering on Tuesday, at the Boathouse Newmillerdam, was pretty magical and incredibly powerful.

The weather played ball for a change. We ended up taking the invocation outside onto the roof terrace, and the moon appeared right on cue. Ten of us gathered under the clear night sky, and we had a small cauldron where we burnt a little note of the things we want to leave behind, watched over by Sister Moon peeping through the trees. One of those quiet, powerful moments where everyone just stops and breathes deeply for a moment. It reminded me exactly why I started doing these gatherings in the first place.

Real people, gorgeous conversations, a bit of creativity, a bit of ritual, and a chance to breathe away from the noise of everyday life for a little while.

Since a few people asked what else is coming up, here’s what’s bubbling…

Witchy Wellbeing in Wakefield!

There’s something about Newmillerdam, on the outskirts of Wakefield, that keeps calling me back. The lake, the trees, the laughter of the ducks, the smell of the forest floor, and the moseying through the woodlands with the dog - getting muddy.

So I wanted to let you know about two magical get-togethers that I have planned, both in venues located around the lake, but with very different energies.

First up, we have my Full Moon Workshop at The Boathouse Newmillerdam.

Tuesday 3rd March: 2.30pm and 6pm

A chance to take a moment, be creative and embrace the wonderful energies of the full worm moon. There are two sessions, one in the afternoon, where we will paint a jute bag that can be used to carry a small journal, your moon water or a pack of oracle cards. The second, in the early evening, we will create your very own Moon Water vessel…

New Moon musings | from Snake to Horse

This New Moon feels fabulous, exciting and full of so much possibility.

January was Black and all about surrender, deep rest and embracing feelings. Now we are in February - Coral - this is the point of true awakening, becoming aware of our own purpose and being flexible to embrace change - and wow, some big changes are coming…

Tuesday 17th February had some huge energy in it, not only because it was the New Moon, but also because it marked the transition from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse.

The Year of the Snake is now closed, and if it felt like the last 12 months have been hard, they have, for many of us. It was a time for shedding skin, learning lessons, leaving things behind, accepting home truths and preparing for the new you!

For me, this last week has put to bed…

Friday the 13th | Freya | Valentine’s

Friday the 13th and Valentine’s landing so close together actually feels heavy - but in a really good way.

Friday the 13th is all about women, thirteen moons in a year, our bodies that move in cycles, our energies that rise and fall. After all, Friday is named after the Norse goddess Frigg, closely associated with the goddess Freyja, who understood that power comes and goes; it’s gentle, it pauses.

Freya wasn’t just love and beauty. She was desire, grief, rage, magic, and rest without trying to make any of it comfortable for other people. She knew that feminine power honours its own timing.

Then Saint Valentine comes along, and he tells us love should look a certain way. Being demure, giving, tending to your lover, making an effort, even when you’re knackered - Eff that, witches.

Real love is about choosing yourself, especially when your body is asking for you…

Join me by the Hearth

This last weekend has been amazing, really emotional and it's unlocked something for me.

Between our Institute of Witches meet-up in West Yorkshire, the Imbolc / Full Moon gathering in South Yorkshire, full of crafting, conversation, sound, and all the lovely human mess of it, I was reminded how much I love creating spaces where people can just arrive and be exactly who they really are.

I’ve also just written a blog (link below) about a recent overnight retreat I went on as a birthday gift to myself. It turned into one of those moments where one particular colour kept tapping me on the shoulder until I paid attention. Orange absolutely everywhere. All about courage, creativity, bravery, and trying something new before you know exactly how it’s going to look.

What it has done is got me thinking more clearly about the future. And I think it’s all about slower,…
