The Moon and the Sisters

I go a whole fortnight without a post (due to my commitments at Whitby - an exciting announcement about that coming soon!) and then two, in 2 days - like buses!

But I just wanted to share with you that there’s something about a sky like this that makes you stop in your tracks. The Moon - huge, low, and glowing - sitting shoulder to shoulder with the Seven Sisters. If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, emotional, or oddly homesick this week, this might explain it. (See the ritual post from yesterday - it's still valid.)

Those sparkles beside the moon that astronomers call the Pleiades are a cluster of young stars in Taurus. But for many of us, it’s more than just a pretty patch of light. It’s a reminder of something familiar we can’t quite put our finger on.

I’ve always felt that tug. The kind that isn’t quite…

Full Moon, November 2025

There’s a strange pull in the air tonight, and if you’ve been feeling the tension lately, then you’re not alone. Between the Super Beaver Moon (yes, that’s really what it’s called - sorry, my inner child is showing! 😆) blazing her brightest light of the year, and for me personally, the energetic madness that's flying around after the most recent Gothic Gathering in Whitby, it’s no wonder everything feels heightened.

This moon is sitting right on the fault line between the red of comfort and the orange of change.  She’s asking us whether we cling tighter or finally let go of the drama, the noise, the people and patterns that drain our magic.

If you’ve found yourself caught in power plays, emotional tug-of-wars, or, like me, just wanting to throw your phone into the North Sea… take a breath. That’s not weakness ~ that’s awareness. The moon’s just amplifying what’s already been bubbling…

Monday Musing: The Colour of Compassion

Lately, I’ve been sitting with what it really means to live in alignment - not just in words, but in choices.

For me, colour is never just pigment. Green, for example, is the colour of compassion, empathy, balance and harmony - the path between what we feel and how we act.

I wonder: Are you living from your heart, or from fear?

In a world that’s loud with blame, outrage, and division, I find myself craving something simpler - a return to humanity. Not right, not left, not shouting over each other… just human.

I’ve made a small personal shift recently - one that felt like an act of integrity rather than rebellion. Not because I’m interested in politics as theatre, but because I’m interested in ethics as practice. In empathy as everyday magic.

So today’s invitation is this:

Witchy Wednesday: A Little Midweek Magic

There’s a certain hum in the air today - that halfway point between chaos and calm, where creativity starts to bubble.

So, witches - what’s brewing in your cauldron this week? What colour are you sitting in right now - calm blue, fiery red, soft pink, stormy grey?

A Little Witchy Wednesday Ritual

Find a quiet spot - just you, your breath, and a moment of stillness.

Close your eyes and picture the colour you’re sitting in today.

See it swirl around you - in light, in steam, in sound.

Right now, this very moment, I’m thinking BLUE. 😀

The Colour Witch’s Coven | The Month of Mixed Magic

October always brings a Black Ocean of mixed feelings for me.

It's a month of endings and beginnings - of light fading, memories surfacing, and ending with the spookiness of Samhain and the Goth weekend in Whitby.

My first ever podcast, as a guest, went live this week - a huge moment of being seen and heard in a new way. Thanks to Empress Sparkle for inviting me.

The very next day would’ve been my dad’s anniversary of his passing. And in the same breath, I'll be celebrating 19 years since I met my husband on Wednesday - we married five years later.

So yeah, it’s a lot.

The kind of emotional turmoil that only October seems to brew.

Red House Rising: What the Full Moon Dragged Up

I promised a full moon post, and I’ve been trying to find the words, and honestly, I’m still not sure they’re here.

Once again, I think sister moon has cracked something open in me, so I’m going to spill it all out and be open and honest.

The last few weeks have been a lot.

Big opportunities. Long journeys. Bright lights.

But underneath it all, I’ve felt this dragging ache - a reminder that maybe not every invitation is actually meant for me.

I’ve felt it building for a while now. That strange feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Can definitely identify with entering the wrong ‘room’. Past versions of ‘me’ stayed too long and tried to fit in to the detriment of my own growth/well being. I almost felt like leaving a friendship, job etc felt like quitting and I feared being perceived as being flaky or too quick to pass judgement. Over the past 6 months I’ve been working hard to listen to my gut instinct, politely leave ‘rooms’ and stop people pleasing.

I really needed to hear this post today. Thank you for sharing 🙏❤️

The Drawer, the Shelf, and the Spellbook

A reflection from The Colour Witch’s Coven

I recently found myself inside a truly magical place - a space filled with story, creativity, and potential. The walls were dripping with imagination. There were secret doors and spiral slides, vintage typewriters and floating words.

On paper, it was a dream. And for a while, it truly felt like one.

But sometimes, the most magical places still come with terms and conditions.

I was invited to share my work - a little slice of colour magic, emotional alchemy, and creative soulwork that I’ve built over the years.

And then the options arrived…

The Coven’s New Rhythm

Hello my lovelies,

I’ve been sitting with how to keep this space alive in a way that feels magical and sustainable - and I’ve realised the answer is simple: to flow with the Moon and the Wheel of the Year.

So here’s what you can expect in this season of the Coven:

  • Posts and prompts for the New Moon & Full Moon - little sparks of reflection, spells, or blessings.

  • Rituals and reminders for the Sabbats - ways to honour the turning of the year in colour and magic

  • Occasional updates from me about my books and creative journey.
