Colour Witch's Coven - The Threshold

Witchy Wellbeing in Wakefield!

There’s something about Newmillerdam, on the outskirts of Wakefield, that keeps calling me back. The lake, the trees, the laughter of the ducks, the smell of the forest floor, and the moseying through the woodlands with the dog - getting muddy.

So I wanted to let you know about two magical get-togethers that I have planned, both in venues located around the lake, but with very different energies.

First up, we have my Full Moon Workshop at The Boathouse Newmillerdam.

Tuesday 3rd March: 2.30pm and 6pm

A chance to take a moment, be creative and embrace the wonderful energies of the full worm moon. There are two sessions, one in the afternoon, where we will paint a jute bag that can be used to carry a small journal, your moon water or a pack of oracle cards. The second, in the early evening, we will create your very own Moon Water vessel…

New Moon musings | from Snake to Horse

This New Moon feels fabulous, exciting and full of so much possibility.

January was Black and all about surrender, deep rest and embracing feelings. Now we are in February - Coral - this is the point of true awakening, becoming aware of our own purpose and being flexible to embrace change - and wow, some big changes are coming…

Tuesday 17th February had some huge energy in it, not only because it was the New Moon, but also because it marked the transition from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse.

The Year of the Snake is now closed, and if it felt like the last 12 months have been hard, they have, for many of us. It was a time for shedding skin, learning lessons, leaving things behind, accepting home truths and preparing for the new you!

For me, this last week has put to bed…

Join me by the Hearth

This last weekend has been amazing, really emotional and it's unlocked something for me.

Between our Institute of Witches meet-up in West Yorkshire, the Imbolc / Full Moon gathering in South Yorkshire, full of crafting, conversation, sound, and all the lovely human mess of it, I was reminded how much I love creating spaces where people can just arrive and be exactly who they really are.

I’ve also just written a blog (link below) about a recent overnight retreat I went on as a birthday gift to myself. It turned into one of those moments where one particular colour kept tapping me on the shoulder until I paid attention. Orange absolutely everywhere. All about courage, creativity, bravery, and trying something new before you know exactly how it’s going to look.

What it has done is got me thinking more clearly about the future. And I think it’s all about slower,…

This sounds like something really special Raychel and I’d love to become a part it. So may offerings today are at such a superficial level it’s hard to make genuine heartfelt connections. Time is so limited for everyone, it’s hard to find a space and the right people to sit and ‘chew the cud’ with 😂 Not all our friends are interested in our witchy or quirky side and that’s okay, but it would be so lovely to talk about that side of ourselves and experiences/thoughts/ponderings with like minded, kind hearted people ❤️

New Year’s Eve ~ 31st December

We’ve made it to the last day of 2025.

Traditionally, we’re still in the Year of the Snake until mid-February, so we’re not quite galloping into Horse energy yet. We’re still in the territory of shedding skin. Letting go of what doesn’t fit anymore. Stepping out of old stories and realising we’re not the same person we were this time last year.

That’s been true for me in a very real, human way.

We started “Dry January” last year, and sort of… never stopped. When we looked at it properly, we worked out we’ve been about 96% sober this year, and it’s been one of the best quiet decisions we’ve ever made.

Not dramatic. Not performative. Just clearer. Calmer. More present. More us.

And now we’re here. New Year’s Eve - ready to welcome in 2026 (nursing a stinking cold)

This resonates with me too. I still feel I'm shedding lots of things that don't fit and it's been a challenging few weeks. But I can see light at the end of it and welcome the changes ahead. 🤗

Giving up the booze 2 years ago, has been the best thing I ever did. I have more clarity, time, energy and effort for other more meaningful things. And this has brought massive changes and positivity along with it.

Wishing you all, the very best for 2026.

A new space around the fire...

I wanted to let you know about something I’m starting, gently, alongside the Coven.

It’s called the Institute of Witches.

It’s not a replacement for the Coven, and it’s not me shifting direction.

It’s more like creating a hearth and inviting people around it.

For a while now, I’ve had the same nudge from my spirit guides, repeated again and again: 'go smaller.'

Less noise. Fewer people. More real connection.

When everyone thinks they’re the main character

I’ve just written a new blog that mixes two of my worlds, my event manager brain and Colour Witch heart.

It is about what really happens behind the scenes when you are running big events, how magical it feels when people turn up with good energy, and how quickly it can all wobble when a handful of guests decide the rules do not apply to them, and their story is more important than anyone else’s.

If you have ever watched someone kick off over “just one more ticket”, or felt your own justice sensitivity flare up when people try to push past a boundary, this one is for you.

In the second half I share what I am planning for Witchmarket Whitby over the May Day weekend, why it will be free to enter, low fee to trade, and why I am so clear on the energy I want us to…
