Moths Found Me...
Hello, lovely Coveners
I wonder if you've noticed that it's been a little quieter than usual around here.
I'd planned to write at the beginning of July about our journey from Yellow into Green, where confidence turns gently into compassion and self-care, where excitement and wonder give way to balance and harmony, and where we are reminded that we can't pour from an empty cauldron.
Then life, as it so often does, had other plans. An unexpected stay in hospital pressed pause on almost everything. I felt frustrated. I had so many plans, ideas and things I wanted to share with you all. But as the weeks passed and I’ve listened to my body, my hubby and my doctors, I realised something...
Sometimes the lesson we're meant to be teaching is the very one we're being forced to live.
Yellow encourages us to step forwards, trust ourselves and find our place in the world shout tahdah in the sunshine and be confident in our being.
And then green comes along, taps you on the shoulder saying:
"Now offer yourself the same compassion you so freely give to everyone else."
Yeah - that’s hard, and so not me - but I had no choice.
Maybe you’ve felt things slowing down, plans changing, conversations taking unexpected turns, or lots of little hints that life is encouraging you to ‘pause a little’ on the forest path and take in the sights, sounds and smells around you. Whether you see that through the lens of Mercury retrograde, the turning of the seasons, or simply life reminding us that we're human, there is often transformation to be found at the rest stop.
Just before my sudden sick break (yes, I was a tad green!), I spent a beautiful weekend at the WOW Gathering, where something rather magical kept happening.
Moths found me.
I had several in my campervans - and although I love them, the divebombing into my left ear (strangely enough the one I get my downloads in) was not fun when trying to get ready for bed, so I gently evicted, not one, but four, one rested on my hand so I could pop it outside - but the last one was very stubborn and took a good 40 minutes to set free! And then the next day I found one almost lifeless under my wheel ramp, until I held it quietly for a while, and then, when it was ready, it simply opened its wings and flew.
It felt less like coincidence and more like a reminder. The symbolism was strong, begging me to trust my inner voice, my intuition, my instinct…
My Colour Journey has never been about pretending everything is perfect. It begins in the Black Ocean and leads us, one colour at a time, towards the White Lighthouse. Not by avoiding or ignoring life's storms, but by learning to navigate them with courage, compassion and curiosity, and surrendering into the pause when necessary.
So this is me, gently returning - with empathy and compassion for myself.
Over the coming weeks I'll be sharing more Colour Witch musings, seasonal reflections, little pockets of magic, and continuing our journey through the colours together.
In the meantime, I'd love to know...
Where in your life could you offer yourself a little more compassion and empathy right now?
As always ~ May you turn your darkness into light, your chaos into calm, and your feelings into your fiercest kind of magic.
Love,
Raychel

Omg I've just wrote war and peace and it's lost 😭
