Moon circles, hearth nights and what’s next
The Full Moon Gathering on Tuesday, at the Boathouse Newmillerdam, was pretty magical and incredibly powerful.
The weather played ball for a change. We ended up taking the invocation outside onto the roof terrace, and the moon appeared right on cue. Ten of us gathered under the clear night sky, and we had a small cauldron where we burnt a little note of the things we want to leave behind, watched over by Sister Moon peeping through the trees. One of those quiet, powerful moments where everyone just stops and breathes deeply for a moment. It reminded me exactly why I started doing these gatherings in the first place.
Real people, gorgeous conversations, a bit of creativity, a bit of ritual, and a chance to breathe away from the noise of everyday life for a little while.
Since a few people asked what else is coming up, here’s what’s bubbling away in my cauldron:
Hearth Night - Old Tailors, Barnsley - Wednesday 18 March
This one is the simplest of the lot. No plan, just a friendly meet-up. Turn up, grab a drink, pull up a chair and join the conversation. I encourage people to bring their own crafting projects, but last month we just did a little colouring in, and sat and talked about life, witchy things, or whatever was on our minds. No booking needed for this one, just pop in any time after 6pm.
Celebrating Spring - Lakeside Creative Arts Centre - Sunday 29 March*
This is a full-day mini-retreat, in the newly refurbished Arts Centre, overlooking Newmillerdam, marking the shift into the lighter half of the year. We’ll have art, crafting, some gentle reflection and a bit of seasonal ritual woven through the day. It’s about taking some time out for yourself, it's eight hours in total so it’s more of a reset day than a quick workshop. There’s also a bring-a-friend ticket if you fancy sharing the day with someone - perfect as a Mother’s Day gift.
Full Moon Workshop - The Boathouse - Thursday 2 April*
Celebrating the April Pink Moon, we’ll be working with the full moon energy once again, through a creative session and a bit of reflective space and moon invocation. You can purchase delicious food, cakes and drinks from the Boathouse Café.

Queen’s Mill, Castleford - 9 May
This is a little teaser for something I’m planning with Linda from Mystical Moon Holistics. Most likely an afternoon of workshops so people can come and get a feel for the Colour Witch and Mystical Moon sessions.
And one more thing I’m quietly contemplating for Coven members…
A small creative session from my home in Darton, Barnsley, where you can make your very own moon bag and creative journal. You would paint your own bag, decorate a journal cover, and start working inside it so it becomes your own little moon or spell journal that you can bring to future gatherings.
Small groups, very relaxed, kettle on, creative chaos encouraged.
