COLOUR WITCH’S ADVENT ~ MAGENTA ~ 22nd December
Understanding, Wisdom, Magic
Magenta is about understanding. Not simple comprehension, but the deeper kind that comes from experience, dreams, and letting life move through you.
In my system, Magenta is symbolised by the river. Sometimes fast and powerful, sometimes slow and meandering. It doesn’t apologise for either. It doesn’t panic when it twists and turns. And it never gets lost.
The river might change pace, change direction, even disappear underground for a while, but it always knows where it’s going. It flows towards the ocean. And when it reaches it, it doesn’t vanish. It becomes it.
That’s Magenta.
This is the colour of wisdom that comes from living, not forcing. Understanding, that arrives when you stop trying to control everything and start paying attention. It’s the place where dreams, intuition, and lived experience begin to make sense together - finally.
Magenta reminds us that manifestation isn’t about pushing or wanting harder (despite what the gurus tell you - that just keeps you in FOMO fear). It’s about being in flow. Letting what’s meant for you, to move towards you at its own pace, while you keep moving too.
If things feel messy or unclear right now, Magenta says that doesn’t mean you’re off track. It might just mean you’re in a bend in the river. Something is still forming. Understanding is still catching up.
A Magenta Practice: Follow the Current
This isn’t a meditation you sit in for ages. It’s something you do, then live with.
At some point today, take a piece of paper and draw a single line around it. Don’t overthink it. Let your hand move. Let the line speed up, slow down, loop, straighten, wander. That line is your river.
Now, without analysing it too much, write along the line or beside it:
moments in your life where things moved fast
moments where everything slowed right down
times you thought you were lost
times you later realised you weren’t
You’re not journaling properly here. Just noting. Fragments are fine.
When you’ve finished, look at the whole page and notice this: the line never stops. It never disappears. It keeps going.
That’s the understanding Magenta brings. You didn’t get lost. You were still moving, even when it didn’t look like it.
If you want to take it a step further, you can fold the paper and tuck it somewhere safe.
Not to “manifest” in a forced way, but as a reminder.
The river is still moving, even when you can’t see the ocean yet.
Show me your meandering river!
Mine's in the comments...
